IT Next: Digital Business,
Disruptive CIO

September 29, 2016
Corinthia Hotel Budapest

Digital transformation opens up new opportunities for IT and CIOs in terms of business value creation. Many practical issues have arisen around the use of new technologies in business and their revenue generating potential. Nevertheless, an increasing range of business activities are digitized outside the realms of business process reengineering, efficiency enhancement and traditional IT. Digital channels continue to gain ground in customer service, while digitization transforms business innovation, product and service development, marketing, and sales. In an even broader sense, companies increasingly rely on corporate data assets to support decision-making and gaining a competitive edge.

In this new digital era, business transformation becomes a strategic priority encompassing corporate culture, management, architecture, organization, and, last but not least, corporate IT. What new opportunities and challenges does this create for the CIO and the IT organization? Should the CIO initiate, oversee, or execute transformation? Beyond aligning infrastructure and processes to business goals, how can IT provide support on this journey?

Our upcoming IDC CIO Forum aims to answer the above questions, and is thus aptly themed: IT Next – Digital Business, Disruptive CIO.
